Starting up...

Hello to my family, friends, and random strangers. I hope you are all doing well. This is going to be my blog about my job as a Nurse's Aide at Banfield, The Pet Hospital. It's a very interesting job, and, as many of you know, I want to be a veterniarian, eventually. I thank my sister now, because she gave me the idea for this blog. I never thought about it, and I kind of hate journal writing (I start them and never finish), so this will be great! I will try to post entries whenenever I work.

CAUTION: If you are squeamish, I apologize for any particularly graphic (AKA "gross") descriptions of pet medical stuff. I want this as a memory for later, and I like the details. : )

First of all, I love animals, so if you think I sound heartless sometimes, don't. I don't mean to be. Sometimes I will type matter-of-factly.

My Job Description: As a Nurse's Aide, I do many different things. Mostly, we keep the hospital clean enough to run safely, and at it's best. We:
  • clean the kennels and runs of the pets who reside in them
  • make sure the animals all have enough food and water and blankets and litterboxes
  • clean up after those messy nurses
  • help hold animals for putting in the catheters (the needles that go into the vein and stay there, for putting medicine/fluids into)
  • help hold animals for other stuff
  • clean everything else
  • restock supplies
  • take animals out to go potty
  • anything else the nurses or doctors ask us to do

Enjoy the blogging!
